With 60 to 80 Hour Work Weeks, Why Does the
"Man Behind the Microphone" Volunteer Online?

Winnipeg, Canada, January 10, 2007: Chuck Brown, a gifted voice over artist, piano musician/composer and Web designer works 60 - 80 hours a week. Why would a man this busy volunteer online for a charitable organization about 1,000 miles away? Brown, based in Columbus, Ohio has been volunteering online, sharing his voice over talent with Macdonald Youth Services (MYS), a registered charitable organization based in Winnipeg, Canada for about one and a half years.

"Chuck is amazing', stated MYS Online Volunteer Program Developer Randy Tyler. "Along with his professional voice over work, music projects, he also manages about 30 Web sites of his own, yet at a moments notice he has so willingly voiced a script for a radio Public Service Announcement (PSA), presentation or video," continued Tyler.

"Once you hear his voice, you will remember the message, as he seems so effortlessly able to bring words to life", said Tyler. "Not only is his voice authoritative and distinctive, but he has this uncanny gift to make every word as clear as the sky on a summer day", added Tyler.

Philipa Caplan, MYS Human Resources Officer, recently had the opportunity to be involved with Brown during the development of MYS's Youth Care Worker Recruitment PSAs. Caplan highlights the value of services that such online volunteers as Brown so generously provide to MYS."... much of what we receive online from Chuck, from our graphic artists, from our HR Assistants-at-a-distance, from our film editors, and the list goes on and on... would have to be purchased", stated Caplan. "This might mean budget restraints or sacrifices would have to be made elsewhere or we would simply have to do without," continued Caplan.

But the question remains: Why does the man behind the microphone, that works on average 60 - 80 hours a week, volunteer online for a= charity a 1,000 miles away (a charity he has never seen)? To find the answer to this intriguing question and to learn more about Brown's interesting endeavors, download the audio interview= at the URL below (at the opening of the interview, you will hear a distinctive voice: meet Chuck Brown). The 25-minute interview was conduced via Skype by John Small, an MYS highly-skilled online volunteer audio creator/producer from South Dakota.
